Tour de Kerroc'h

Tour de Kerroc'h - Ploubazlanec
22620 Ploubazlanec
The 'Tour de Kerroc'h' is a very unusual structure and has become the accepted emblem of Ploubazlanec. It was erected in the last century on the summit of the mound once known as 'Krec'h Mahaf' or 'Mazé', Breton for Matthew. From here you can survey the Bay of Paimpol. This granite tower exceeded the expectations of Abbot Guennou, who wanted to erect a simple statue of the Virgin Mary. The tower was built on the mound and initially topped by a statue of Saint Anne, and only later of the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph with Baby Jesus.
