Just passing through



Les plus beaux détours de FranceFirst of all, come and pick up the "Discovery" guide from the Tourist Office: in addition to a small presentation of the main attractions of the area, it will guide you in your stroll around the harbour and the historic heart of the city of Paimpol,  a proud member of "Plus beaux détours de France" (most beautiful stops in France)!


In two hours

- You can browse through the narrow streets of old Paimpol's many shops, galleries and art studios which are all a will delight for the eye. The arts and crafts tour is in the in the "Discovery" guide and is a useful aid. Note the rich architecture of the houses Paimpol: the half-timbered architecture  Paimpol shows off nearly four centuries of evolution of civil architecture .

 - Walk around the port, passing by the lock: the fishign port and pleasure port, passing by the workshops and boat builders. All the maritime know-how of Paimpol is open for you!


In half a day

- You can walk around the harbour and stroll through the alleyways of the old part of town, visit the Maritime Museum, open from Easter to mid September (Heritage Days) or the current exhibition at the Halle, on place Gambetta.

- A coffee on the terrace or a crêpe will complete your stopover!

In a full day

-You can spend the morning  discovering old Paimpol and its port in the city centre, which will enchant you. If it's a Tuesday it's weekly market day. Complete the walk through the colorful stalls by choosing a good table at one of the many restaurants.

- In the afternoon you can enjoy the sea and discover the Abbey of Beauport, its romantic gardens and its seaside section along the "monks' dyke"

- By late afternoon, a tour of the Cliffs of Plouézec and its breathtaking  
perspectives over the Moulin de Craca, the Point de Bilfot Point and the Pointe de Minard) makes a fantastic end to the day .
